If our default "Welcome to your new Web Site", index.html, has not been replaced by another index page, then anyone going to yourdomain.com will still see that page instead of some other home page. Just delete the index.hmtl file and upload your own. Note: "home.html" will NOT show up as your home page. You would need to rename it as aforementioned. There is no set limit that eBevo imposes on the size of each database, but the total space used must not exceed the disk quota allocated for your account. Back to top Where is the MySQL database situated? The MySQL server is situated in the same machine that your account runs off. This reduces downtime and increases efficiency. Therefore you want to connect to localhost. Back to top How do I create email redirect/forwarder/alias/autoresponder? You can do this directly through your control panel. Simply login your user at http://www.yourdomain.com/personal and enter your username and password. Once inside the control panel, everything you need to do can be accessed through this control panel. Simply login to the site control panel at http://www.yousite.com/siteadmin and enter your username and password. Once inside the control panel, click on the manage mailing lists link. CGI scripts are custom applications that can be created and used online for a variety of uses, including forums, etc. Back to top What are the paths to sendmail/perl, etc? The path to date: /usr/bin/date The path to perl: /usr/bin/perl The path to sendmail: /usr/sbin/sendmail The path to your site: /home/sites/www.yourdomain.com/web Back to top How do I set the executable permission on my CGI scripts? To set executable permissions on your CGI scripts, a number is usually used to denote successful permission. Generally the correct permissions setting for a CGI file is 755 - the same as your cgi-bin. We suggest that you read the README/Installation file that comes with your scripts to find out the type of permission that you need to give. Additionally, you may grant execute permissions and generally change the permissions for your CGI scripts and other files by using your FTP client. Simply login to your account with your FTP program, access your cgi-bin and then right click on the CGI file in question. In most FTP programs, this should generate a menu of options - one option should be either "properties" or "change file attributes". Once you select one of these options, you may assign the proper execute permissions to your script by either entering 755 or checking the execute permissions setting for the anonymous or "other" group. Once you have successfully changed the permissions for your CGI file, please make sure that you follow the additional guidelines in configuring your script. Back to top | |
